Check homework folders this Wednesday, November 11th for report card envelopes! Please return envelope the next school day without the report card. This is a time for parents and children to reflect on the student's progress so far in the school year. It is not too late to change habits if the grades aren't what the child wants to be seeing. If your report card has highlighted content and numbers, those are just some concerns I wanted to bring to your attention. All children should really be working on their multiplication math facts at home because we are currently in that unit of study and I can tell which kids know it and which ones don't. It is all memorization!! It just takes practice over and over again!! Thank you so much for being supportive and going over the report card with your child.
Last week went home to sign up for Title Math night on November 18th. This is a great way to learn about our New York Engaged Curriculum and ask any questions you may have! I totally recommend coming to this.
Please continue to have your child reading every night with a book at their level. A lot of students brought home books from my leveled bookshelf and I am totally ok with that as long as the book gets returned when finished:)
Lastly, during conference week I told the students I was expecting my first child April 4th. My husband and I are very excited for this new journey that lies ahead of us. WIth that said, most likely I will be taking the rest of the school year off! This website will be continued to be updated with the new substitute that I have in place. Thank you for understanding my leave of absence.
