This week as a class, we really practiced our routines and getting to know our schedule and class. I am really enojying and loving the class, they are a great group of students. Next week we will be really jumping into our curriculum for reading and math. Today, I have sent home the new spelling words and vocabulary words. Your child will be tested on them next Friday 9/19, so please make sure they practice at home. Also, homework folders need to be signed EVERY NIGHT, or they get fined their "yager bucks," which they have earned by working very hard. Every night they need to be reading, practicing vocabulary and spelling, and then their math facts. It should be a daily routine so they can be caught up in class and don't fall behind. We have been using our computers a lot in class with great educational websites. I am asking that each student brings in their own headphones so they can listen to instructions on the computer wihtout interupting eveyone else. Some students have already brought in their headphones, so great job:) Some great websites to use on their internet are spellingcity.com, sumdog, and interactiveweebly.com. They are all educational sites. The more work they put into class and outside studies, the further they will progress. "Education is not the preperation for life, but education is life itself" -John Dewey. Lastly, if there are any voulnteers that would like to help out in the classroom to make copies, grade papers, or even plan classroom parties please e-mail me or send in a note with your child. I am always looking for extra help:)
Once again parents, I am so very thankful for you and your child!
