This past week was very busy between test in the class, brown bag lunch, our class store, and a literacy assembly. I think the students really enjoyed spending their "yager bucks" and are realizing now how important it is to earn some bucks! We will not have another class store until close to winter break. If you have any odds and ends around your house that you would like to donate to the class store, please send it in:) Thank you to the parents, grandparents, and aunts that came in to eat lunch with your child in the classroom. I will schedule another one in the spring time, hope to see you there:)
Homework, homework, homework! As you all know, homework is very important to your child's success. There are studies to prove your child's academic success if they read every night! It will increase the fluency tremendously. Also, please continue to work on basic multiplication facts at home daily. Remember, every Friday they have a spelling test and a reading test which includes 7 vocabulary words. I can tell which students are working hard at home! Thank you for the continued support, it is very much appreciated and cannot thank you enough!
Halloween is right around the corner. This year, there will not be a Halloween carnival due to lack of volunteers and how much time it takes to put into it. In place of that, they will have a school dance on Friday October, 31st. We will have a Halloween party in the classroom on Friday October 31st in the afternoon. I am asking someone to kindly sign up to help organize the party, as I have many other things I am doing to work on your child's success! I will also need parents to sign up to donate to the party. Please e-mail me at [email protected].
This week, there will be a paper going home for you to sign up for conferences. Please make it an important date to schedule, as I look forward to meeting with you to discuss your child's success and struggles.
Thank you,
Mrs. Yager
