If you are reading this tonight, Thursday, remind your child to pack a sack lunch! Also, please wear comfortable shoes!
I am sure some of your children come on and say we have a "crazy class" and I want you as parents, to please remind your child to ignore whatever may be happening at the time and know Mrs. Yager will take care of it! I am really excited to start our new little incentive program in which they each have their own sticker chart. If they reach their goal of 4 out 5 each day, they receive a small piece of candy or a yagerbuck. We have our first class store the first week in October so encouraging your child to keep working hard and earning them. Also if you would like to donate any old toys or items that you think a child would be interested in "purchasing,'" I would love the donation!!
Lastly, homework folders are a huge part of 4th grade and it teaches them responsibility. The homework needs to be completed every night and turned in the next day. They also need to get their homework folder signed. During the week they will be bringing home spelling worksheets to help them prepare for their weekly spelling test. Also, they will be bringing home a math worksheet. Now, I know math has changed in the way we do it!. Trust me, I have to reteach myself before I teach them! SO please if you don't understand how to do it, click on the math link here http://www.oakdale.k12.ca.us/ENY_Math4_Modulesor it is also under important documents tab. You will scroll down and click on the Module we are currently on which is Module one and then scroll down to the lesson # which will be located on top of your child's homework. The video literally goes through the paper and gives you the answer. I am totally ok with the child copying it down because they are still learning!! If you have any questions please stop in and I can show you:)
Please remember, I am here to help!!
